Bipolar gradual resistive switching was investigated in ITO/InGaZnO/ITO resistive switching devices. Controlled intrinsic oxygen vacancy formation inside the switching layer enabled the establishment of a stable multilevel memory state, allowing for RESET voltage control and non-degradable data endurance. The ITO/InGaZnO interface governs the migration of oxygen ions and redox reactions within the switching layer. Voltage–stress-induced electron trapping and oxygen vacancy formation were observed before conductive filament electroforming. This device mimicked biological synapses, demonstrating short- and long-term potentiation and depression through electrical pulse sequences. Modulation of post-synaptic currents and pulse frequency-dependent short-term potentiation were successfully emulated in the InGaZnO-based artificial synapse. The ITO/InGaZnO/ITO memristor exhibited spike–amplitude-dependent plasticity, spike–rate-dependent plasticity, and potentiation–depression synaptic learning with low energy consumption, making it a promising candidate for large-scale integration. Reliability and packing density concerns are the two major shortcomings of spin transfer torque and spin orbit torque based magnetic memory, respectively. Voltage controlled magnetic anisotropy (VCMA) becomes energy efficient and fast, showing transcendence for the writing mechanism in the magnetic tunnel junction. Deterministic switching cannot be achieved by VCMA alone in the out of plane nanomagnet. It requires an external in-plane magnetic field, but the use of an external field is inconvenient for on-chip applications. We exploit stress and exchange bias provided by an antiferromagnetic material to mitigate the external magnetic field requisite. We perform macro-spin simulations using the Landau–Lifshitz–Gilbert equation at room temperature. We use the VCMA effect cum stress effect to investigate field free switching performance, and this improves the write error rate (WER) to 5 × 10 − 5 against WER of 0.1 with the VCMA effect alone. We studied the effects of applied voltage (amplitude and pulse width), exchange bias field, and VCMA coefficient on the switching performance in detail. When dielectric-elastomer (DE) resonators are operated under large alternating voltage excitations, strong geometric and material nonlinearities can significantly affect the dynamic performance. Based on the virtual work principle, a dynamic model of a circular DE resonator is established in this work. Static analysis is conducted to study the impacts of the control voltage on the strain and natural frequency of the DE resonator at equilibrium. A modified Incremental Harmonic Balance and arc-length methods are used to obtain dynamic responses of the system excited by alternating voltages, and stability analysis is conducted using the Floquet theory. The effects of the mechanical parameters are studied, and period-doubling bifurcations are observed, which are produced by the parametric excitation of the voltage. The bifurcation phenomenon is comprehensively investigated through analysis of the voltage, stress, and damping coefficient, which provides design guidance for DE resonators. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The conventional startup and shutdown methods were unsuitable for idle situations such as waiting at traffic lights or roadside parking, especially when the FCV battery capacity is small and cannot withstand high-power charging. This study presented the water state in PEMFC during a shutdown purging process, and a test was conducted on the mature vehicle FCS consisting of 350 single cells. A conventional start-stop test was studied firstly, and the result reported an OCV time of 0.3 s during the conventional startup process, and the normal shutdown process took approximately 1 min. Then, a voltage maintenance strategy was explored by starting the air compressor and opening the cathode inlet stop valve at intervals to maintain the anode pressure at 20 kPag, but the high voltage in some stages needed further optimized. Finally, the start-stop test embedded with a voltage maintenance strategy were carried out to analyze the feasibility of optimizing the processes. By increasing the discharge process during the idle voltage maintenance, the average cell voltage is maintained at a range of 0.72–0.8 V, which can potentially minimize the damage to the lifespan during the start and stop processes, ultimately improving the durability of the fuel cell system. During the voltage maintenance stage, the energy consumption of the system was 0.33 kWh. This article proposes a method to effectively suppress second‐harmonic current (SHC) of dual active bridge (DAB) converter, which adopts the triple‐phase shift (TPS) modulation strategy, in two‐stage single‐phase inverter system. Load current feedforward control with twice the output voltage frequency notch filter inserted is introduced to ensure the dynamic response performance. The averaged model of the system is established to analyse the influence of output impedance of front‐end DAB converter on SHC from the perspective of impedance. The proposed method does not need to consider the accuracy of the intermediate bus capacitance. Summary This paper presents the development of a single‐phase voltage source inverter (VSI) of 3.5KW, applied to grid‐connected photovoltaic systems (GCPS). The proposed system has a boost interface converter connected to a full bridge inverter with an LCL filter. Each block that constitutes the proposed GCPS is described in detail, containing the specifications of the solar modules, the design of the power circuit components, the mathematical modeling, and the control design of the converters. The presentation of the Volt‐VAR Control (VVC) highlights the contribution of this work, where it is implemented with the intention of the inverter to supply/consume reactive power, in order to minimize voltage variations at the point of common coupling (PCC). To validate the inverter operation with VVC, three cases are presented, encompassing grid voltage and irradiance variations, and load steps. Through the PCC voltage profiles, currents, and power supplied/consumed, the means to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control is shown. The results obtained through the PSIM simulations and verified by Typhoon Hardware in the Loop (HIL) model, showed the regulation of grid voltage levels for all established conditions. This paper investigates the optimal stator voltage angle in a rotor flux‐oriented system of an induction machine drive, aiming to maximise machine torque while operating in a deep field weakening region. Here, torque maximisation leads to maximum torque per voltage control, as only voltage constraints are relevant in this region due to high back‐electromotive force. Previous studies have predominantly focused on field‐weakening operation and torque maximisation, assuming a constant synchronous speed. However, for a given rotor speed, the variation in the dq voltage components impacts the slip speed, thereby influencing the synchronous speed. Therefore, this paper proposes enhanced analytical expressions to address this limitation. It is shown that after a linearisation around a suitable operating point, a closed‐form algebraic equation for calculating the speed and parameter‐dependent optimal voltage angle for torque maximisation can be obtained. The theoretical analysis is supported by numerical and experimental results. The presented linearised expression is proven to be an effective tool for the analytical calculation of the optimal voltage angle, making it suitable for real‐time control applications. Here, a grid voltage sensorless control of an LCL‐filtered LC‐tuned single‐phase shunt hybrid active power filter (HAPF) is proposed, which offers high‐quality harmonic current compensation with low hardware requirements. An estimation algorithm replaces the grid voltage sensor and associated circuitry to reduce the size and cost. This paper presents a straightforward and accurate modelling of the suggested structure and its filtering characteristics, followed by a comprehensive yet simple parameter design procedure. An inherent damping technique that uses digital delay rather than virtual or physical damping resistors eliminates the need for additional sensors or extra power losses. As part of the design, a high‐quality reference current is generated for the filter, which is then effectively tracked using a proportional controller with sufficient bandwidth and stability margin. An experimental prototype is implemented to verify the theoretical results, and several steady‐state and transient waveforms are reported to demonstrate the superior performance of the HAPF. During the energy transition, new types of electrical equipment, especially power electronic devices, are proposed to increase the flexibility of electricity distribution grids. One type is the solid-state transformer (SST), which offers excellent possibilities to improve the voltage quality in electricity distribution grids and integrate hybrid AC/DC grids. This paper compares SST to conventional copper-based power transformers (CPT) with and without an on-load tap changer (OLTC) and with additional downstream converters. For this purpose, a corresponding electricity distribution grid is set up in the power system analysis tool DIgSILENT PowerFactory 2022. A DC generator like a photovoltaic system, a DC load like an electric vehicle fast charging station, and an AC load are connected. Based on load flow simulations, the four power transformers are compared concerning voltage stability during a generator-based and a load-based scenario. The results of load flow simulations show that SSTs are most valuable when additional generators and loads are to be connected to the infrastructure, which would overload the existing grid equipment. The efficiency of using SSTs also depends on the parameters of the electrical grid, especially the lengths of the low-voltage (LV) lines. In addition, a flowchart-based decision process is proposed to support the decision-making process for the appropriate power transformer from an electrical perspective. Beyond these electrical properties, an evaluation matrix lists other relevant criteria like characteristics of the installation site, noise level, expected lifetime, and economic criteria that must be considered. MEMS electrostatic actuators can suffer from a high control voltage and a limited displacement range, which are made more prevalent by the pull-in effect. This study explores a tri-electrode topology to enable a reduction in the control voltage and explores the effect of various solid materials forming the space between the two underlying stationary electrodes. Employing solid dielectric material simplifies fabrication and can reduce the bottom primary electrode's fixed voltage. Through numerical analysis, different materials were examined to assess their impact. The results indicate that the primary electrode's fixed voltage can be reduced with an increase in the dielectric constant, however, with the consequence of reduced benefit to control voltage reduction. Additionally, charge analysis was conducted to compare the actuator's performance using air as the gap-spacing material versus solid materials, from the perspective of energy conservation. A machine learning‐based optimized droop method is suggested here to simultaneously reduce the production cost (PC) and power line losses (PLL) for a class of direct current (DC) microgrids (MGs). Traditionally, a communication‐less technique known as the hybrid droop method has been employed to decrease PC and PLL in DC MGs. However, achieving the desired reduction in either PC or PLL requires arbitrary adjustments of weighting coefficients for each distributed generator in the conventional hybrid droop method. To address this challenge, this paper introduces a systematic approach that capitalizes on the benefits of artificial intelligence to accurately predict both the PC and PLL in a DC MG. Furthermore, an optimization technique relying on the gradient descendent method is employed to independently optimize both PC and PLL for each scenario. The effectiveness of the proposed method is confirmed through a comparative study with classical and hybrid droop coordination schemes under various scenarios such as rapid load changes. The topological skyrmions in ferrimagnet systems provide new opportunities to investigate the fundamental spin dynamics. Effective manipulation of ferrimagnet skyrmion motion is a vital task for future spintronics applications, motivating intense research on magnetization dynamics with voltage as driving sources. In this work, the skyrmion in ferrimagnets driven by voltage controlled magnetic anisotropy gradients, which tends to move toward the low anisotropy area and has a constant velocity, is investigated. Thiele's theory analysis is reported on the velocities of the skyrmion dependencies on the anisotropy gradient, the net angular momentum density, and the damping coefficient, which are confirmed nicely by the atomistic simulations. It is demonstrated that the velocity of the skyrmion reaches to a maximum value at a nonzero net angular momentum density δs different from the domain wall, and the Hall angle of ferrimagnet skyrmions can be controlled by δs. The results are useful for the understanding of ferrimagnet skyrmion dynamics and may open an alternative way for the design of ferrimagnet spintronic devices. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The structure of a DC–DC converter connected in series with a 400 Hz inverter is widely used in aviation airborne and ground power systems to provide a medium-frequency AC power supply within a wide input voltage range. To guarantee the dynamic and steady-state performance of a multi-module series converter, it is necessary to individually optimize the control loop and the parameters of each series-connected module. In addition, it is also necessary to consider the input–output impedance matching issues of each converter. In this study, a phase-shifted full-bridge converter employing an average current control strategy is used as the input-side DC–DC converter, and a medium-frequency three-phase four-leg inverter is used as the output-side inverter. The study also conducts a small-signal modeling analysis to reveal the intrinsic relationship between the closed-loop output impedance of the input-side converter and the circuit parameters. It summarizes the optimization criteria for controlling the parameters of the voltage and current loops. By suppressing the peaks of the output impedance of the input-side converter, the impedance matching between the input- and output-side converters is ensured over the entire frequency range, ensuring the stable operation of the overall system. Summary: In many practical applications such as motor drives, the inverter is required to produce a variable output voltage within a wide range (e.g., 0.1 to 1 pu). In such cases, when the inverter operates in low modulation index (low output voltage), the harmonic distortion of the output voltage increases due to considerable reduction in the magnitude of the fundamental component. Also, the ratio of the switching losses to the output power will be high in the low modulation index. In this paper, a simple solution is proposed to overcome the problems. The principle of the proposed solution is to adjust the DC‐link voltage so that the modulation index of the inverter remains within a specific high range. Different practical ways of obtaining controlled DC‐link voltage are presented. Also, for operation of the DC‐DC converter used for DC‐link voltage control, three strategies are proposed. The proposed solution is simple, and it is very effective and feasible to implement. To the best of the authors' knowledge, the idea has not been presented in this form previously. In the realm of renewable energy utilization, the effective harnessing of low voltage sources necessitates the application of specialized interfaces like DC–DC power converters. Within this framework, step-up DC–DC power converters play a crucial and central role in enabling the efficient harvesting of renewable energy. This research presents an innovative DC–DC power converter with a high voltage transfer ratio, eliminating the need for a transformer. The converter utilizes switched inductor and capacitor techniques, demonstrating its unique advantages compared to traditional designs. Emphasizing low voltage switch stress as a technical priority, the proposed converter demonstrates a symbiotic relationship between high step-up voltage ratio and reduced power losses. Both continuous and discontinuous operating modes are examined to elucidate the steady-state behavior of the 250 W implemented prototype. The study provides comprehensive insights into the converter's capabilities, which are subsequently verified through meticulous experimental validation. The presented prototype exhibits impressive efficiency, reaching 97.1% owing to its ability to maintain low voltage switch stress during nominal operation. This paper examines the impact of different voltage unbalance definitions on voltage control in unbalanced distribution systems. Traditional voltage regulation methods for unbalanced systems rely on a single voltage unbalance definition with inconsistent adoptions. In such a situation, voltage control performance can vary between definitions, and improper choice leads to control failures. In this study, we perform numerical analysis and simulations to investigate the impact of different definitions. In the numerical analysis, two definitions quantifying negative and zero sequence components are used as reference definitions, and the theoretical error range of the remaining definitions is identified. The results are further verified by the simulations on the IEEE 123 node test system with phase‐by‐phase controlled three‐phase step voltage regulators and smart photovoltaic inverters. The control of the devices is optimized to minimize or limit a specific definition. The results show that the values of each definition at the same voltage condition can differ significantly, and inappropriate definitions may lead to significant uncertainty in the voltage control. © 2024 Institute of Electrical Engineer of Japan and Wiley Periodicals LLC. We propose a programmable topological metasurface to integrate intelligent modulations of spatial and surface waves. A general design method is presented to design the programmable metasurface elements with PIN diodes. The surface waves can be controlled to propagate along the topological domain-wall interface by programming the C3-symmetry elements, while the spatial waves are modulated by the patterns of C6-symmetry elements. By independently controlling the bias voltages of meta-elements, the programmable topological metasurface can generate different coding patterns with distinct combinations of C3- and C6-symmetries in real time, respectively achieving the dynamical manipulation of the surface- and spatial-wave by using distinct element states in a time-division manner. To validate the modulation performance, we perform both near- and far-field tests with different coding patterns. Experimental results demonstrate good agreement with numerical simulations, thereby showcasing the flexible manipulations of surface waves and spatial waves by the topological metasurface. We present a straightforward way to solve a model predictive control problem for a power network system given as a nonlinear differential‐algebraic equation (DAE) in a distributed way using the consensus alternating directions method of multipliers (consensus ADMM) algorithm. While no convergence‐ or stability results are available for fully nonlinear DAE models, this gives unprecedented experimental evidence that power network systems of the presented structure allow to be controlled in this way, unlocking the numerous combined advantages of distributed and predictive control schemes in the context of energy distribution networks, as well as broadening the field of use for the consensus ADMM algorithm to nonlinear DAE models. This article proposes a model-based deep reinforcement learning (DRL) method to design emergency control strategies for short-term voltage stability problems in power systems. Recent advances show promising results for model-free DRL-based methods in power systems control problems. But in power systems applications, these model-free methods have certain issues related to training time (clock time) and sample efficiency; both are critical for making state-of-the-art DRL algorithms practically applicable. DRL-agent learns an optimal policy via a trial-and-error method while interacting with the real-world environment. It is also desirable to minimize the direct interaction of the DRL agent with the real-world power grid due to its safety-critical nature. Additionally, the state-of-the-art DRL-based policies are mostly trained using a physics-based grid simulator where dynamic simulation is computationally intensive, lowering the training efficiency. We propose a novel model-based DRL framework where a deep neural network (DNN)-based dynamic surrogate model (SM), instead of a real-world power grid or physics-based simulation, is utilized within the policy learning framework, making the process faster and more sample efficient. However, having stable training in model-based DRL is challenging because of the complex system dynamics of large-scale power systems. We addressed these issues by incorporating imitation learning to have a warm start in policy learning, reward-shaping, and multi-step loss in surrogate model training. Finally, we achieved 97.5% reduction in samples and 87.7% reduction in training time for an application to the IEEE 300-bus test system. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The presence of uncertainty in the converter model and controller parameters affects the system's stability and dynamic performance. This paper presents a comparative analysis of robust non‐fragile control based on (i) the Kharitonov method and (ii) the linear matrix inequality (LMI) technique so that the controller can cope with the effect of both uncertainties. The first approach based on Kharitonov theorem determines the robust performance region with guaranteed gain margin and phase margin under parametric uncertainty. The second approach (LMI technique) is based on devising a control law that can quadratically stabilize the closed‐loop system subject to uncertainties and satisfy the H∞ norm bound constraint on disturbance attenuation. Based on these two approaches, a robust non‐fragile PI controller is designed for voltage mode control of dc‐dc buck converter. The effectiveness of the control approaches is evaluated based on (i) robustness against large plant parameter perturbations and load disturbance and (ii) fragility against controller parameter perturbations. The performance of the designed controllers (using the Kharitonov method and the LMI technique) has been thoroughly evaluated and validated through simulation and experimental results. To improve the complexity of the chaotic system and achieve the effective transmission of image information, in this paper, a five-dimensional memristive chaotic system with cubic nonlinear terms is constructed, which has four pairs of symmetric coordinates. First, the cubic nonlinear memristive chaotic system is analyzed using the Lyapunov exponential map, bifurcation map, and attractor phase diagram. The experimental results show that under four pairs of symmetric coordinates, the system exists not only parameter-dependent symmetric rotational coexisting attractor and transient chaotic phenomena but also exists super-multistationary with alternating chaotic cycles dependent on the initial value of the memristor. Then, it is proposed to add a constant term to the linear state variable to explore the effect of the offset increment of the linear state variable on the system in four pairs of symmetric coordinates, while circuit simulation of the five-dimensional chaotic system is carried out using Simulink to verify its existence and realisability. Finally, the synchronization of the dimensionality reduction system and the confidential transmission of the image are achieved, using the control voltage of the system to replace the internal state variables of the memristor to achieve the one-dimensional reduction process, and an adaptive synchronization controller is designed to synchronize the system before and after the dimensionality reduction. Based on the above, an image to be transmitted is modulated into a one-dimensional array and then subjected to the fractional and cyclic operations and combined with the linear encryption and decryption functions and the chaotic masking technique, the simple encryption and decryption of the image processes are realized. Ultra-thin ZnO thin-film transistors with a channel thickness of <10 nm have disadvantages of a high threshold voltage and a low carrier mobility due to a low carrier concentration. Although these issues can be addressed by utilizing the strong reducing power of tri-methyl-aluminum, a method is required to control parameters such as the threshold voltage. Therefore, we fabricated a ZnO/Al2O3 thin-film transistor with a thickness of 6 nm and adjusted the threshold voltage and carrier mobility through the modulation of carrier generation by varying the growth temperature of Al2O3. As the growth temperature of Al2O3 increased, oxygen vacancies generated at the hetero–oxide interface increased, supplying a free carrier into the channel and causing the threshold voltage to shift in the negative direction. The optimized device, a ZnO/Al2O3 thin-film transistor with a growth temperature of 140 °C, exhibited a μsat of 12.26 cm2/V∙s, Vth of 8.16 V, SS of 0.65 V/decade, and ION/OFF of 3.98 × 106. Today voltage source inverters (VSIs) operate with high switching frequencies (let us assume higher than 50 kHz) owing to the fast Si (Silicon) or SiC (Silicon Carbide) switching transistors. However, there are some applications, e.g., with slower switches (e.g., IGBT—Isolated Gate Bipolar Transistor) or when lower dynamic power losses are required when the switching frequency is low (let us assume about 10 kHz). The resonant frequency of the output filter is usually below 1 kHz. The measurements of Bode plots of the measurement traces of various microprocessor-controlled VSIs show that in this frequency range, the characteristics of these channels can be simply approximated through two or three switching periods delay. For the high switching frequency, it is not noticeable, but for the low frequency it can cause some oscillations in the output voltage. One of the solutions can be to use the predictor of the measured state variables based on the full-state Luenberger observer or the linear Kalman filter. Both solutions will be simulated in MATLAB/Simulink and the chosen one will be tested in the experimental VSI. The research aims to omit delays in the measurement channels for the low switching frequency by using the predictions for the measured state variables and finally increasing the gains of the controller to decrease the output voltage distortions. HVE-400 ion implanter is special ion implantation equipment for semiconductor materials boron and phosphorus doping. The ion source and extraction deflection system are at high voltage platform, while the corresponding control system is at ground voltage position. The control signals and measurement signals of various parameters at the high-voltage end need to be transmitted between ground voltage and high voltage through optical fibers to isolate high voltage. Upgrading is carried out due to the aging of the optical fiber transmission control and monitoring system, which cannot work stably. The transformation replaces the original distributed single-point control method with an advanced distributed centralized control method, and integrates all control and monitoring functions into an industrial control computer for digital operation and display. In the computer software, two kinds of automatic calculation of ion mass number are designed. After upgrading, the implanter high-voltage platform control and monitoring system features digitalization, centralized control, high reliability, strong anti-interference, fast communication speed, and easy operation. Subsynchronous oscillations have occurred in wind farms due to the high penetration of converter-based technology in power systems and may potentially lead to grid instability. As an effective solution, synchronous condensers, with their ability to control voltage and inject reactive power in the power system, are increasingly being adopted, as they can lead to the mitigation of such oscillations in weak grid conditions. However, the impact of synchronous condensers' power ratings on system stability is a topic that requires further investigation. In fact, an improper selection of a synchronous condenser's rating will not extinguish existing subsynchronous oscillations and may even cause the emergence of new oscillatory phenomena. This paper presents a novel examination of the impact that the synchronous condenser's power rating has on the small-signal stability of a wind farm with existing subsynchronous oscillations while being connected to a weak grid. The wind farm's model is developed using state-space modeling, centering on grid interconnection and incorporating the state-space submodel of a synchronous condenser to show its impact on subsynchronous oscillation mitigation. The stability analysis determines the optimal synchronous condenser's power ratings for suppressing these oscillations in the wind farm model. This article presents a proportional–derivative (PD) type output voltage regulator without the current feedback, taking into account system parameter and load variations. The main advantages are given as follows: First, the first-order output voltage derivative observer is developed without the requirement of system parameter information, which makes it possible to stabilize the system without current sensing. Second, a simple self-tuner implements the feedback-loop adaptation by updating the desired dynamics accordingly. Third, the observer-based active damping injection for the PD-type controller results in the closed-loop system order reduction to 1 by the pole-zero cancellation, including the disturbance observer as a feed-forward term. In order to achieve the flexible and efficient utilization of distributed energy resources, microgrids (MGs) can enhance the self-healing capability of distribution systems. Conventional primary droop control in microgrids exhibits deviations in voltage and frequency and lacks research on voltage–frequency control during network reconfiguration. Therefore, this paper investigates the control strategy of secondary control for voltage and frequency during the process of reconstructing distribution networks to operate in the form of microgrids after faults. Firstly, the mathematical model of three-phase voltage-source inverters with droop control is analyzed. Then, inspired by the generator's secondary frequency control strategy, an improved secondary control method based on droop control is proposed, and the effectiveness of the improved droop control strategy is verified. Finally, simulation examples of distribution networks with various dynamic boundary topology changes are designed to simulate a relatively stable control result, validating the proposed strategy. Hybrid Energy Systems (HESs) are offering several advantages over conventional generation systems because of the rising need for Renewable Energy Resources (RERs) and its high capability and flexibility of achieving the desired performance for both urban and rural areas. The main goals of HESs are to improve the system performance by increasing its flexibility, reliability and reducing generation instability. In the current work, a hybrid Photovoltaic/Wind Energy Conversion System (PV /WECS) is proposed to supply and support the utility grid. The generated power from the system is greatly responding to the change in both the wind speed and PV irradiance level, and as a result impacting the DC-Bus voltage of the system converters. Therefore, precise, fast and optimum controllers are required for the PV/WECS system to ensure the extraction and generation of stable maximum power during weather variations along with maintaining the DC-Link voltage at the desired value. Further, this study proposes a novel Linear Active Disturbance Rejection Control (LADRC) combined with a hybrid Salp Particle Swarm Algorithm (SPSA) to a grid-connected PV/WECS for extracting the Global Maximum Power (GMP), regulating the DC-Link voltage, and enhancing the active and reactive powers control. The capability of the proposed SPSA-LADRC based-MPPT approach is examined according to the tracking time, accuracy and response to internal and external disturbances and then comparing its performance with other techniques such as SPSA-SMC, SPSA-PID and SPSA-PI controllers respectively. The findings revealed that the LADRC can track and keep the DC-Link voltage as the desired reference value,1500 V, respond much faster than the PI, SMC, and PID controllers as well as keep the THD of the injected current into the grid at a low level of 2.25%. Finally, the performance of the proposed system is experimentally verified using Hardware-In-Loop (HIL). To improve the total efficiency of a dual-bridge series resonance converter, a pulse width modulation plus phase-shifted modulation with voltage balance condition is proposed for a hybrid dual-bridge series resonance converter. The control scheme is unified for the whole operating condition and with simple calculation. By employing the proposed voltage balance control, the equivalent unity voltage gain operation can always be achieved, while a simplified two degrees of freedom control can be easily formed. Wide soft-switching range and reduced tank current can be ensured by the pulse width modulation in active hybrid bridge, and power level is adjusted by the phase-shifted modulation. In addition, a magnetizing current compensation method is also employed to improve the soft-switching performance of low voltage side four MOSFETs. The sub-synchronous resonance (SSR) characteristics and countermeasures of grid-forming permanent magnet synchronous generators (PMSGs) controlled by DC voltage synchronization control (DVSC) are investigated in this paper. First, small-signal models of two PMSGs connected to a series-compensated network are established, where a recently developed grid-forming control, i.e., DVSC is applied. Then, a modal-analysis method is conducted to evaluate the impacts of the control parameters, series compensation level (SCL), and electrical distances on stability. It is interesting to see that PMSGs with DVSC exhibit unstable SSR like traditional synchronous generators. Moreover, the dominant wind turbine (WT) is investigated using participate factor analysis. Then, a simple but effective SSR damping controller (SSRDC) is designed using feedforward control signals, which is only activated when SSR occurs. It is shown that the designed controller can provide strong damping support for SSR suppression. Electromagnetic transient simulations are performed in different scenarios to find the unstable SSR conditions, as well as to verify the correctness of the SSR analysis and the effectiveness of the proposed SSR damping scheme. Fast settling phase locked loops (PLLs) play a pivotal role in many applications requiring rapid attainment of a stable frequency and phase. In modern communication standards, these PLLs are extensively utilized to guarantee precise compliance with dynamic resource allocation requirements. In processors, these PLLs manage dynamic voltage frequency scaling. Moreover, the fast-settling PLLs expedite the scanning of frequency spectra in sophisticated electronic radar set-ups, proving particularly advantageous for imaging and scanning radar applications. The rapid response exhibited by these PLLs is also harnessed in quantum technologies, catering to the urgent need for precise frequency adjustments to manipulate qubit states effectively. The strategies employed to attain fast-settling PLLs are primarily classified into five broad techniques in this article: enhanced phase frequency detection, hybrid multiple subsystems, VCO start-up, gear shift, and look-up table or finite state machine. This article explores the fundamental operational principles encompassing these techniques and presents optimal settling times for each method reported in the literature. The flight control system is the integrated command center and core component of the UAV system. Aiming at the problems of poor accuracy and low efficiency in the field measurement of flight control system parameters, combined with the configuration of the flight attitude sensor-vertical gyroscope, hardware-in-the-loop simulation technology, and integrated automatic test methods are adopted. The hardware-in-the-loop simulation test platform for the UAV flight control system composed of a low-cost, high-precision miniaturized UAV attitude calibration platform and a control piston deflection angle test device is designed. The main controller replaces the ground master control station of the UAV and directly sends remote control commands to the aircraft. By changing the attitude of the aircraft, and measuring the voltage of the control signal, the feedback signal, and the rudder angle, the comprehensive performance test of the parameters of the flight control system is realized. This paper presents a combination between a fuzzy logic control (FLC) and a predictive direct power control for multifunctional grid connected photovoltaic (PV) system, to solve the oscillation problem in the DC link voltage of the inverter caused by the fast irradiation changing. The whole system consists of a PV system which interface a DC-AC inverter, a FLC maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithm has been adopted to operate the DC-DC converter at the MPP. The predictive control strategy is applied to the DC-AC inverter with FLC in its voltage control loop to improve the power exchange between the grid and the PV system. This paper presents an elitism-crossover barnacle mating optimization (ECBMO). It is an improvement of barnacle mating optimization (BMO). The original BMO suffers from local optima problem leading to a low accurate solution. A new method of offspring generation is adopted into the original BMO structure. Some features of the best-so-far solution are incorporated into the generated offspring. The accuracy performance of the proposed algorithm is tested on several IEEE functions. A statistical analysis is conducted to compare its performance over the original BMO. It is also applied to optimize proportional integral derivative (PID) parameters for controlling output voltage of a buck converter. Result of benchmark functions test shows the proposed algorithm has attained higher accuracy for all functions compared to BMO algorithm. Application on the real problem shows both algorithms control the converter voltage satisfactorily. This paper presents a scheme to start three-phase induction motors (IMs) directly connected to terminals of constant V/f controlled doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) through the rotor side converter (RSC). The proposed control is achieved by controlling the output voltage and frequency of stand-alone DFIG via controlling an injected voltage into the rotor circuit through the RSC. The control scheme provides a search for maximum rating of the three-phase IM which can be supplied from a DFIG. The search technique is based on using a simplified mathematical model to find the capability limits of the RSC and DFIG. It is found that these parameters depend on the stator frequency and rotor slip. Therefore, an investigation is performed to find the lowest frequency and the corresponding allowable maximum rating for the IM to be safely started. A typical example is provided in the paper for a 15 kW DFIG. It is shown that this generator could supply a three-phase IM with a maximum rating of 1-hp if it operated at nominal outputs, voltage and frequency, during start-up period. This paper examines the difficulties of managing distributed power systems, notably due to the increasing use of renewable energy sources, and focuses on voltage control challenges exacerbated by their variable nature in modern power grids. To tackle the unique challenges of voltage control in distributed renewable energy networks, researchers are increasingly turning towards multi-agent reinforcement learning (MARL). However, MARL raises safety concerns due to the unpredictability in agent actions during their exploration phase. This unpredictability can lead to unsafe control measures. To mitigate these safety concerns in MARL-based voltage control, our study introduces a novel approach: Safety-ConstrainedMulti-Agent Reinforcement Learning (SC-MARL). This approach incorporates a specialized safety constraint module specifically designed for voltage control within the MARL framework. This module ensures that the MARL agents carry out voltage control actions safely. The experiments demonstrate that, in the 33-buses, 141-buses, and 322-buses power systems, employing SC-MARL for voltage control resulted in a reduction of the Voltage Out of Control Rate (%V.out) from0.43, 0.24, and 2.95 to 0, 0.01, and 0.03, respectively. In this article, a fully monolithically integrated GaN power stage with a half-bridge, driver, level shifter, dead time and voltage mode control for 48 V DC–DC converters is proposed and analyzed. The design of the GaN IC is presented in detail, and measurements of the single function blocks and the DC–DC converter up to 48 V are shown. Finally, considerations are given on a life cycle assessment with regard to the GaN power integration. With the expansion of renewable energy sources, the stable and high-quality operation of microgrids composed of new energy sources has attracted widespread attention. Among them, the power conversion system (PCS), as an important part of microgrids, plays a crucial role in their operation and management. The PCS operation modes are classified into grid-connected and off-grid modes. However, in off-grid mode, due to the access of nonlinear and unbalanced loads, the output voltage quality of a PCS is worse, and the voltage waveform distortion is serious. To solve these problems, a fast repetitive control (FRC) strategy is proposed for a power conversion system with an Active Neutral Point Clamped (ANPC) architecture of three levels. The voltage loop control strategy can be applied to the voltage/frequency ( V / f ) mode and the grid-forming mode. The control strategy can effectively realize the suppression of the harmonics of the output voltage and has a 100% capability to carry unbalanced loads. Finally, a 1725 kVA PCS prototype is developed, and the proposed control strategy is verified using the MT3200 HIL semiphysical simulator of ModelingTech in the V / f mode as an example. This practically verifies the feasibility and validity of the proposed control strategy, which has a certain degree of engineering practicability and reference due to the simplicity of the design and the ease of realization. In order to play a positive role of decentralised wind power on-grid for voltage stability improvement and loss reduction of distribution network, a multi-objective two-stage decentralised wind power planning method is proposed in the paper, which takes into account the network loss correction for the extreme cold region. Introduction: Virtual Synchronous Generators (VSGs) are used in Voltage Source Converter-based Multi-Terminal High-Voltage Direct Current (VSC-MTDC) systems to enhance power system stability. However, the MTDC framework can lead to instability due to reduced inertia in certain grid areas, especially during load switching at VSC stations. This instability is exacerbated by untimely adjustments of the VSG's power setpoint, leading to voltage and frequency oscillations. Methods: This study introduces a cooperative control approach for the DC voltage of the VSG, employing a consensus algorithm and Model Predictive Control (MPC). This method aims to achieve incremental power for the VSG and provide interactive power commands for both the grid side and the wind farm side. The consensus algorithm ensures coherent system adjustments, while the MPC algorithm tracks DC-side voltage changes in real time. Results: The application of this cooperative control approach significantly enhances DC voltage regulation performance. It effectively reduces the extent of frequency drops and mitigates secondary frequency drop (SFD) issues, particularly those arising from the use of wind farms for frequency regulation and the associated speed recovery in wind turbine units. Discussion: The increase in supplemental power effectively utilizes the energy stored in DC-side capacitors for power balance regulation and introduces additional inertial power into the system. Electromagnetic transient simulations have confirmed the effectiveness of the Consensus MPC-VSG method, demonstrating its ability to optimize the dynamic performance of VSC-MTDC systems and promote stability in DC voltage and frequency. Modern power systems, referred to as cyber-physical energy systems (CPESs), are complex systems with strong interdependencies between power and information and communication technology (ICT) systems. CPESs also have dependencies between the essential grid services. For instance, coordinated voltage control depends on state estimation, which depends on measurement acquisition. Since the operation of CPESs is largely influenced by these grid services, assessing their performance is crucial for assessing the performance of a CPES. Most of these grid services are enabled by the ICT system, i.e., they rely to a high degree on ICT. Hence, properties such as availability, correctness and timeliness, which depend on the involved software, hardware and data of the ICT system, must be considered for assessing the performance of an ICT-enabled grid service. Disturbances and repairs in CPESs impact these properties, which can then propagate and affect the performance of a grid service as well as other dependent grid services. There is, therefore, a need to model the influence of the properties of software, hardware and data on ICT-enabled grid services for single services as well as across several services, resulting in a propagation of these parameters. Current literature lacks such a model, which can used not only to investigate but also to visualise the impact of these properties on the overall perfromance of a grid service as well as other dependent grid services. This paper proposes a meta model for assessing the performance of ICT-enabled grid services, which can be instantiated for different grid services considering their dependencies. A multi-dimensional operational state space, which serves as a visualisation of the performance of grid services in terms of their state trajectory, is also proposed in this paper. The contributions are then demonstrated by a case study with a state estimation service and the widely-used CIGRE medium voltage benchmark power grid augmented with an ICT system. Three scenarios with disturbances are presented to show the benefits of the contributions. Specifically, the performance of the state estimation service considering the disturbances is investigated using the meta model, and the change in performance is visualised as trajectories using the operational state space. These contributions enable new possibilities for planning and vulnerability analyses: property changes in parts of the ICT system can be simulated to investigate their consequences throughout the ICT-enabled grid services. A trajectory representing their performance can then be visualized in the state space based on which measures could be implemented to potentially improve the resilience of the service against the considered disturbances. The object of this study is a technique for assessing the accuracy of measuring the torques of electric motors. This technique is based on the improvement of dynamic torque measurement processes under transient operating modes. Special attention was paid to devising adaptive methods to normalize the output signal, which take into account vibrations and nonlinearities of the measuring channel. In order to improve the accuracy of measurements under conditions when the controlled parameter has different deviations from its average value, a technique for integrating time measurement intervals was proposed. That has made it possible to generalize parameter fluctuations, providing more stable measurement results. This paper reports the simulation of the process of measuring torques of electric motors under transient operating modes and under vibration conditions. That has made it possible to test the proposed technique for estimating the variance of the methodological error, which includes the integration of measurement time intervals and makes it possible to increase the accuracy of the measurement under the conditions of transient modes in electric motor operation. An algorithm for correcting the error of the dynamic torque of the electric motor has been proposed, which allows it to be corrected. This becomes possible owing to the use of a reference measure and the proposed technique for determining the deviations of the controlled parameter of the measured quantity, as well as the automatic calibration of measuring transducers. The algorithm allows for flexible settings of the corrective action, expanding the potential of electric motor control systems. It can complement soft measurement methods, as well as adjust the threshold values of deviations under different operating modes of electric motors. The Onshore Wind Power All-DC Generation System (OWDCG) is designed to integrate with renewable energy sources by modifying the grid structure. This adaptation supports the grid infrastructure and addresses the challenges of large-scale wind power AC collection and harmonic resonance during transmission. Crucially, small disturbance stability parameters are essential for ensuring the system's stable operation. Unlike conventional power systems, the OWDCG exhibits strong coupling between subsystems, accentuating the small disturbance stability issue due to the dynamic nature of its converter control system. The impedance method facilitates the decomposition of such systems into subsystems, offering insights into the destabilization mechanism through the lens of negative impedance contribution. This approach is conducive to conducting small disturbance stabilization analyses. To tackle this issue, the initial step involves deriving the input and output equivalent impedance models of the subsystem, considering the topological structure, control features, and operational dynamics of the OWDCG. Subsequently, the impact of circuit and control parameters on the system's impedance characteristics and small-disturbance stability is examined through Bode diagrams and Nyquist curves. This analysis identifies critical parameters for small-disturbance stability, guiding the stable operation and parameter optimization of the OWDCG. The analysis highlights that the main control strategies for stability are the Modular Multilevel Converter (MMC) DC voltage control and the inner-loop current control gain.
